A notary public of the common law is a public officer constituted by law to serve the public in noncontentious matters, is official integrity appointed by the state government, typically by the secretary of the state to serve the public as an impartial witness in performing a variety of official fraud-deterrent acts relating to the signing of important documents usually a concern with estates, deeds, power-of-attorney, and foreign and international business.

The functions of the notaries include the preparation and execution of legal documents, attesting the authenticity of deeds and writings, not limited to Notary Processes, Financial Documents, Legal Documents, and Business Documents.
